An Old Accustomed Feast: Part Three

"Nothing emboldens sin so much as mercy."

December 25th

Fitzwilliam was relieved to sit down to supper. Supper meant Juliette was halfway to taking her first breath of the evening. No logic or inconsistency, down to the clothes on his back, affected her fright. To his last argument, she said the light fabric would make him easier to find - there ended the matter. Georgiana also looked in need of a deep breath after a sudden mood shift. If they weren't spending the night at the Manor, he would have been looking for an early end to the night.

An Old Accustomed Feast: Part Two

"What revels are in hand?"

December 25th

In the calm before the party, the great hall at Capulet Manor was little more than a grand extension of the family's well-worn sitting room. Miranda was entertaining Ariel with unusual patience. Juliette and Fitzwilliam were off to one side, deep in conversation. At the center of attention, as always, were Hermia and Puck's twins, Eleanor and Lysander.

Marry is the Very Theme

"I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright."

December 18th

All was not right in Fitzwilliam Darcy's world. He ought to be in Juliette's company; instead, he was waiting on his aunt's pleasure at his uncle's table without her. Her family had been invited to last week's gathering, but they were quite conspicuously absent this time. The table was less crowded without the Capulets but so much less enjoyable. The only thing her absence offered him was freedom. It wasn't freedom from Juliette, and it wasn't freedom to enjoy himself, though.

It was the freedom to glower while he decided who he despised the most.

I'll Give Thee Remedy

"To do a great right, do a little wrong."

December 3rd

"How could you have 'forgotten' to meet with Catesby? That was the only reason I sent you to Maerdilean!"

Albany shrugged, perpetually undisturbed by his wife's fury. "If it was important, you should have sent someone else."
