Crack Pairing Offspring

January 4th, 2015: Downloads added! See the end of the post.

40+ pictures ahead. Consider yourself warned.

The final tally was seven nominated couples, which turned out to be a perfect number. One member of each couple was impregnated via InTeen with twins, so we could see a male and a female child each. The children's faces and genetics were not altered in any way. The only makeup used on them was my standard set of eyeliner lashes.

Couple #1: Goneril Capulet and Catherine Fitzwilliam de Bourgh

Pairing likelihood: Extremely unlikely. Neither has shown any same-sex interest. Even if that wasn't so, Catherine would never jeopardize the moral high ground. Also, while I could see Goneril having sex with someone for gain, Catherine has nothing Goneril needs.

Since Lady Catherine had a second pairing, Goneril had the honor of carrying the children. Goneril's pinched features, particularly the mouth, are the ones to watch out for here. On the other hand, her children with Albany are among the best-looking Maxis Sims.

Lear, on the left, has brown hair and his blue eyes common to Goneril's brother and Catherine's mother. Margaret has the classic Capulet complexion: blonde hair and gray eyes.

No, Margaret isn't making a silly face. The lucky girl has inherited Goneril's lips. It looks like they both have, actually, but they're kinder to Lear. Lear does have an exceptional forehead going in the toddler phase, though.

Apparently, I was wrong about Lear having Goneril's lips. Those are entirely too full to be hers. Catherine's nose has won the day with both kids. Both kids are a mixture of features, but Margaret's coloring keeps reminding me of her half-sister, Desi.

Margaret still reminds me of Desi, though with a face that just seems larger somehow. Lear might as well be the child of Goneril and Kent now.

Lear is back to looking like Catherine is in there somewhere. He manages of the balance of looking distinct without looking out of place. Margaret's stronger features remind me of Catherine, but those lips and that coloring mark her as a Capulet. She has a bit more of the Capulet chin, too.

Couple #2: Catherine Fitzwilliam de Bourgh and Consort Thebe Capulet

Pairing likelihood: Absolutely no chance. Marriage would be the only circumstance, and neither one is looking for a marriage, even if they were compatible. Also, Cordelia's children would burn down Capulet Manor before they let Lady Catherine into their family proper.

Consort's face has that super-boxy look from the bottom of the nose to the jaw, with sunken cheeks that create a hard edge to each side of the mouth. I eased those features on his grandson for good reason, which I am sorely afraid of seeing ahead.

Meet Augusta and Curan! Both kids inherited the gray eyes. Augusta is the brunette.

Curan is an absolute cutie with Volatile hair. His jaw looks pretty square right now, which isn't a bad thing. Augusta's nose is tending toward Consort; I'm guessing her eyes are Catherine's simply because they don't look like Margaret's. I'm curious to see how her cheeks develop, if they step into that boxy zone.

The kids' noses and lips look really similar as children, which has to mean they won't in the next lifestage. (TS2 logic, ladies and gentlemen.) Curan is still a cutie with balanced features. I like his eyes, and I like that his nose isn't pinched. Augusta looks a little tired. A smile would brighten her up a lot, I think.

The teen stage has been the point in this experiment when the final product and the inheritance of features becomes pretty clear. August has a facial structure quite similar to Margaret's, but she has Catherine's full lips and a mix of her parents' noses. Curan's jaw and lower face are much the same as his sister's. The overall impression is Capulet, though.

Augusta's final product is very reminiscent of Margaret. Her eyes give her a tired appearance. She is another example of a distinct Sim who isn't on either end of the beauty scale. Curan takes after his father strongly in adulthood. It's a handsome face overall, and I think the pale blond hair is a nice contrast with the typical coloring.

Couple # 3: Antonio Montague and Sebastian Nowell

Pairing likelihood: Absolutely no chance now, since Sebastian is suffering a terminal disease. Before that, I'd still rate it as extremely unlikely. Antonio's only ever had eyes for Hero, alive or otherwise.

I'm quite interested to see how Sebastian breeds. His only daughter is actually an imported self-sim. Antonio has two children with his deceased wife. Although you can't see it, Antonio has the prominent Montague nose. Also, weird fact: Sebastian has a deceased brother named Antonio.

Both babies were born with brown hair, but they won't get the same shade. On the left, Viola must have caught onto the blue eye recessive in the Montague line, which I believe is actually the same shade as Sebastian's eyes. On the right, Cesario has brown eyes courtesy of Antonio.

Viola grew up into a dark, reddish brown shade. Her complexion is extremely reminiscent of Sebastian's half sister, Maria, right now. Cesario is a mixture of the two families - his eyes look like they're Sebastian's.

Cesario is shaping up to be a cutie who still doesn't favor one family. Viola is beginning to look suspiciously like her grandfather. Orsino.

Wear the Montague colors all you like, Viola, but you're a Nowell. Cesario's nose is Antonio's for sure. He is also sporting a rather massive chin, but I like it. The shape of his eyes is very pretty with that brown color.

Cesario grows up to be pretty handsome! (His nose is pretty big, but it works.) Viola's eye shape is Antonio, but she still screams Nowell. I regret putting that hair on her now.

Couple #4: Romeo Montague and Pan Palamon

Pairing likelihood: Not likely, but not impossible. Romeo hasn't given any indication of liking men. Pan has had sex with men numerous times as part of his business, but when he can be choosy, he chooses females. If Romeo wanted to pay and would let Pan top, a strictly business encounter could happen.

So, I can't remember if Romeo has a blond or brown recessive hair gene. Dark eyes are pretty likely here. There is a lot of variance in color and facial features, so I'm pretty interested to see how the kids turn out. The two fathers are among the handsome crowd in my game, after all.

On the left, Aias. Romeo must have had a blond recessive after all. Aias' coloring is pretty similar to Romeo's mother's, if I remember correctly. Cassandra has black hair and very dark brown eyes, the same as Pan's.

Oh good gracious, these are adorable children. Romeo's mother was an Incendiary blonde, but Aias is a Volatile, like Pan. Cassandra got Romeo's Flash Powder.

They're still adorable. They're also both a nice mix of parents as far as I can see. I think they both have Romeo's eye shape. Since their lips look similar now, they won't once they age up.

Wow. Cassandra has a lot of Romeo in her face. The chin is Pan's, I think, and obviously the skin and eyes, but otherwise, she's all Romeo. Very pretty. Aias is more of a mixture. I don't think his hollow cheeks suit how big his eyes are, but he's still pretty handsome.

Cassandra looks pretty much the same as an adult. Aias's face looks much more balanced after aging up. So far, I think these are the prettiest twins.

Couple #5: Nerissa Palamon and Father Laurent Albans

Pairing Likelihood: Extremely unlikely. This was actually my personal favorite pick. I wouldn't say I ship them as a romantic couple but as the sort of people who would have exceptionally interesting debates as part of daily conversation. They're both good people, but that goodness manifests itself very differently. And even if all of that wasn't true, Laurent takes his vows seriously. No relationships forthcoming for him.

I think dark hair is a given here. Laurent has a recessive for green eyes from his mother, so I'm hoping for green eyes on at least one kid.

Meet Lorn and Leara! (I suppose I should have picked actual twin names, but Lorn and Leara were the first two names in my head.) The kids both have black hair and green eyes. Not much to tell them apart at this point.

Cute. Toddlers. They look really similar at this point. Moving on...

Lorn and Leara take the award for most twin-like twins. Leara might have her mother's eye shape and Lorn his father's.

The teen stage tells. Leara strongly resembles her mother, which is not a bad thing at all! Lorn is more of a mixture - maybe a little more Laurent than Nerissa, but the pale skin is throwing me. I love that hair on him.

Not much change from teen to adult. Leara is very much her mother, and Lorn is a mixture. They're both very good-looking Sims. Lorn's facial structure would be more unique in my game. I'll say it's a tie for best-looking twins now.

Couple #6: Titania Summerdream and Orsino Nowell

Pairing Likelihood: Not impossible. Orsino's romancing days are mostly over by his own choice. I could have seen this happening in the past if Titania wasn't yet married or if her marriage with Oberon is open.

Fae-looking children are almost guaranteed here because Orsino's face was sculpted with the elf face as a starting point. His sim actually has pointed ears, but I don't consider his character to have any Fae heritage. Orsino's hair was black before it turned white.

Malvolio has inherited his father's blue eyes and brown hair, which will have a red tint. I believe Titania and Orsino both have a purple eye recessive, which is where Hippolyta got her beautiful eyes.

Malvolio, the Fae is strong with you. I hope he grows into that face. Hippolyta is a little less extreme-looking.

The extreme facial features strike again. Malvolio has suddenly started to look like his father in facial features, though that brow is Titania's. His nose is looking like it'll be very long. Hippolyta reminds me more of Titania - angular, but pretty. I want to see how she grows into that face before I get too attached to anything.

Woah. These two suddenly got gorgeous. Hippolyta is mostly Titania with Orsino's mouth, I think. I chose that hair to show off the lovely shape of her face, but I think she would wear a much longer style by her own choice. Malvolio looks more like Orsino. I'll admit, I changed his hairstyle because his brow actually poked into the mesh of the style he was wearing before. I think he's just as gorgeous as his sister, but I would tweak his brow before I thought of breeding him.

Yeah, they grew into those faces.

Couple #7: Paulina Amantes and Georgiana Darcy

Pairing Likelihood: Extremely unlikely. Besides a lack of same-sex attraction, they're each heading toward marriages to two sworn enemies. Neither is the type to blindly hate. However, neither is the type to take up with the second-most insulting person imaginable, even if their marriage wasn't good.

Georgiana is one of my earliest Sims. Paulina was added much later, after I added default replacement faces to my game (I'll admit that I don't think I spent a lot of time on her facial features.) And yet, their faces have quite similar shapes. The features are different enough, though. Georgiana's recessive genes are the same as her dominant. Paulina's might be a little more varied.

Our last pair of twins is Leontes and Caroline. Both twins must have received their hair/eye genes from Paulina. Caroline's purple eyes are courtesy of Paulina's grandmother.

Cute. Toddlers. Again. I'm running out of things to say about toddlers, so let's go on to the next age.

There are those similar lips that won't be similar soon again. Looking at Leontes' eyes, all I can think of is Paulina. He has beautiful eyes, a cute nose, and a very nice facial shape. And if you couldn't tell, I love that hair he's wearing. Caroline resembles Georgiana quite a bit. I love her complexion, too.

Each twin definitely takes after one of their mothers. I am officially looking forward to the children each of their mothers produces, because they've made two very pretty children together.

Absolutely lovely! Caroline is the image of Georgiana - fitting, since Georgiana takes after her own mother so much. Leontes is mostly Paulina with, I think, Georgiana's mouth. It's an interesting mix of features, but it works really well.

Conclusion

This was an extremely fun project! I was hoping to be able to end this post with downloads of all of the offspring featured here, but I have a few too many demands on me right now to manage it. I'll put up a post after Christmas.

Updated 4th January: Click here to download your favorite offspring.

Happy Holidays to all of my lovely readers!

  1. Eeeee! They all turned out so great! I hope you saved the Sims. Maybe the ones from two noble houses could be repurposed into mutual relatives?

I'm not even sure who my favorites are. Well, apart from Lorn and Leara, obviously. ;) Even the kids with more extreme features grew up extremely well.

    1. :D

The Sims are all in their temporary neighborhood right now. I'm going to extract them all for download (and safe keeping) before I trash the neighborhood. They could do very well as relatives of some sort. Malvolio is extremely likely to end up as one of Mab's brothers.

Lorn and Leara would make good favorites, if all else fails. Very good genes in that pool :)

      Thanks, Van!

  2. Oh my! Considering some of the parents I'd almost suspect you of cheating somewhere. Can they really all be that gorgeous? Still, you can tell the parents quite easily from the kids' looks, especially with the most extreme pairings. So, no cheating after all. ^^ Though I have to wonder if any subsequent children from these pairings would fare as well. At least, I don't think you did the pacifier-thing for each of these births?

In any case, WONDERFUL idea! And I looooooove the results! (Oh, Teh Prettyyy!) I can't wait to get my hands on these lovelies. ;) I might have an idea for them.

A very Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones! And a smooth start into 2015!

    1. No cheating! ;) I did exit the lot without saving if the twins were the same sex, but the first opposite sex twins that popped out were kept. They were born in-game, so I had no way of knowing what they were going to look like. I think Lady C's kids all got lucky, because Consort and Goneril's features could have been worse to them. Subsequent births might prove less kind...

I'm glad you enjoyed! Unless something unexpected pops up, I'm putting them all up this weekend for any and all ideas you might have :D

A belated Merry Christmas to you, too! I hope 2015 is being good to you!

  3. Adore the results, Winter! Have to admit, I did expect some extremely severe-jawed, long nosed offspring from Consort and Lady Catherine - the kids were suprisingly cute and cuddly!

    1. I think Lady Catherine's face is Capulet kryptonite. Those four kids weren't the best looking I've seen, but they fared a lot better than I expected.

      Thanks, Amelie!
